Digital Jam 2.0
World Bank–financed mobile-apps festival with a $1M prize purse across eight categories.
Digital Jam 2.0 brought together Caribbean artists, developers, and musicians around the question of what digital culture means in Kingston. World Bank–financed, the festival centered on an eight-category competition with a $1 million mobile-apps prize purse. One of the largest tech prizes ever staged in the Caribbean.
Thompson led the mobile-app-development workshops, teaching how to build apps from web technology using PhoneGap (now Apache Cordova).
